Padberg, Corrigan and Appelbaum Welcomes Paralegal
Apr 19, 2018 Firm News
Padberg, Corrigan & Appelbaum (PC&A) announces the retirement of longtime paralegal Janet Bates and welcomes Brandy Williams to the team.
Since joining the firm in 1990 as assistant to Godfrey Padberg, Jan was an integral part of its growth and success. When Godfrey approached his retirement in 1999, his son, Matthew, branched off to found Padberg & Corrigan (later PC&A). Jan remained part of the Padberg staff and transitioned to the role of paralegal at the new firm.
“Jan truly is like family. She was there for Godfrey through the end of his career and provided invaluable support for me as I started our new firm,” said PC&A Principal and Partner Matthew Padberg. “While I am excited for her to enjoy a much-deserved retirement, she will also be missed by everyone.”
Jan’s retirement initiated the hiring of Brandy as paralegal in January 2018. Brandy brings with her more than 11 years of paralegal experience, working for the general counsel at a St. Louis-area hospital and in private legal practice. She has her paralegal certificate and earned a B.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from the University of Missouri St. Louis.
“As a paralegal, I genuinely enjoy the ability to help people when they need help the most,” explains Brandy. “The reputation of both the firm and its attorneys is what initially drew me to the position. Discovering that PC&A attorneys and staffs’ passion was also to help injury victims reinforced my decision to join the team.”
Brandy’s responsibilities include writing demands; participating in collecting and answering discovery; requesting medical records, bills and affidavits; summarizing medical records and bills; reducing and negotiating liens; and much more.
“Brandy has already proven to be a valuable addition to our team,” said PC&A Principal and Partner Michael Corrigan. “Her organization and new processes have increased efficiency in our existing systems, which will allow us to continue to provide the utmost in service and attention to each client.”
Born and raised in St. Louis, Brandy spends time with her husband, two daughters, and two pitbulls, K’os & Sugar. She also enjoys being outdoors, rollerblading, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
