Missouri Automobile Accident Injuries - November 13, 2009

The following recent automobile accidents resulted in injury or death in Missouri.

A woman was in critical condition at the University of Missouri Columbia Hospital for injuries she sustained in an accident that occurred south of Jefferson City.  The two-car accident happened around 4:20 on tuesday afternoon, Nov 10, on U.S. 54 at Pleasant Hill Road in Brazito in Cole County.  Dorothy Sturgis, from Rocky Mount collided with Vincel Wood, of Eldon when Wood apparently pulled in front of her from the media crossover.  The collision caused Wood's vehicle to overturn. Wood was wearing a seat belt and treated for minor injuries. According to the Patrol, Sturgis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

On Monday, Nov. 9, Two residents from Belle, Missouri were injured in a one-vehicle accident on MO 28, east of U.S. 63 in Maries County. The Hyundai drove off the right side of the roadway, over-corrected both to the left and right, proceeded off the highway again, went through a drainage ditch, struck a fence and overturned. Both individuals were taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla for treatment of their injuries.

Last Friday, two individuals, Kyle Laine Bolte from Potosi and Dr. Larry D. Murrow, from St. Charles were killed in an early morning accident. The two car accident occurred on Hwy 32 near Oak Trail Ridge. According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Bolte's vehicle crossed the center line while traveling east and collided with Dr. Murrow's west bound vehicle. The accident occurred where the roadway takes a slight curve. According to the Patrol, Dr. Murrow was believed to be headed to Ironton where he worked as an emergency room doctor.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, two teenagers were injured when a 1989 Suzuki went off the road and flipped several times, ejecting the two individuals. Beth Morrow of Annapolis and Anthony Shoemaker of Fredericktown were taken to Madison Medical Center for moderate injuries. The accident occurred at Highway 72 and Oak Grove in Madison County.

Paula Edgar of Park Hills was seriously injured Thursday Nov 11, when her Dodge Shadow ran of the road and struck a dirt embankment. The accident occurred at Hardin Road east of Route E in Jefferson County. She was taken by Arch Helicopter to St. John's Hospital.

Three people were seriously hurt in an accident on Route Y near French Village in St Francois County. The two car accident apparently occurred when a vehicle driven by James Nash if DeSoto crossed the center line and struck a car being driven by Gary Abt of Valle Mines head-on. According to arrest reports, Nash, who is on probation, was cited for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident. All three individuals were transferred by air to hospitals in St. Louis.
